Our quintessential desert tour-Marrakech to Fes begins by traveling through the High Atlas Mountains, while enjoying stunning views overlooking countless remote villages. Afterwards, you’ll follow the former caravan route to Telouet; and visit the 18th-century “Kasbah Telouet” which was built by the powerful “El Glaoui” during the french protectorate. Late after you’ll arrive to the village “Ait ben haddou”, one of the finest examples of ancient pre-saharian architecture. As a result the UNESCO declare it a world heritage since 1987.

As you explore the area, you will then continue your way to “Ouarzazate”, the city commonly known as the “gateway to Sahara” and Hollywood of Africa”. overnight stay at a hotel or Riad.

Before you leave ouarzazate, you might like to explore the town with its 18th-century “Kasbah Taourirt”, and the movie Museum. On the way to your next destination, you’ll discover the 17th-century “Kasbah Amridil”, and drive through the roses valley to Dades gorges. The region is dotted with enumerable kasbah, astonishing agricultural fields and strange rocks formation. Another 2 hours will take you to Tinghir, where you’ll be amazed by its fascinating palm groves oasis, and the spectacular “Todra gorges” with its two gigantic mountain walls reaching 300 m in places. Dinner and overnight at a nice boutique guest house, near the gorges.

After having breakfast, you will be able to walk around the gorges, and spend more time here before you head straight to Merzouga. On the way to the dunes, not much things to explore except the 12th-century underground irrigation system using to irrigate agricultural fields. Once you arrive to Merzouga, you’ll be greeted by the locals with their welcoming mint tea. Briefly after you will venture through the dunes, to catch the stunning sunset; overnight under nomadic tent, dinner and breakfast included.

Wake up early in the morning to witness the magical sunset, have a typical breakfast then ride your camel to meet up with your local driver guide. The 470 km from Merzouga to Fes, may takes over 8 hours drive.
