Day 1: Fes to Merzouga
After leaving Fes, we will be heading South; through Ifrane (known for heavy snow falls during winter months); Midelt (Apples town); Errachidia with its amazing Ziz valley (palm grooves) and Erfoud which famous for dates harvest in October.
Today must be the longest drive during the trip, but when we get to Merzouga; you will be rewarded by a ride on dromedary, through the dunes of erg chebbi.
It is the most spectacular moment of the day, attending the sunset before arriving at the camp which is located in the middle of the dunes.
During the night, you may enjoy the silence of the desert, stargazing; while the nomads playing on their drums. Overnight under nomadic tent with dinner and breakfast including.
One more day is highly recommended for relax; enjoying much time at Erg chebbi desert by driving around its sand dunes; seeing the nomads living locally. Possibility to stop and share a little moment with these inhabitant; while inviting us for a cup of tea. From here we keep driving on rocky and sandy path until we get to the village Khamlia; where you will be greeted by Berber musicians (Gnawa, also called the pigeons of the desert).
Depending on the rain season; you might see the pink flamingo’s birds in a huge natural lake; around the village of Merzouga. Lunch in one of the Berber family’s house (home-stay); and then drive back to the hotel.
Day 2: Merzouga to Dades Gorges
Your journey will start by an early wake up, and say hello to the first sun rays; have breakfast; then get on the camels and ride back to the hotel.
Afterward, we pass trough the cities: Erfoud, Tinjdad, then Tinghir from where a fascinating palm grove runs along the Todra river to the gorges.
A walk is probably useful to stretch your legs, and discover this place with its gigantic cliffs of 300 meters high in some places. When you have taken advantage of this fabulous landscape; we will continue our drive to Dades gorges.
Another landscape of an incredible geological formation; with small villages berbers and kasbahs; will lead us to an altitude of approximately 1800 meters. Visit the gorges;
overnight in a hotel with dinner and breakfast including.
Day 3: Dades gorges to Marrakech
After breakfast, we will be driving along the road of a thousand Kasbahs; crossing Roses valley, where Morocco’s most celebrated Roses used for making rosewater.
Getting to Ouarzazate which is well known as the movie city; pause here and exploring the old area with its Kasbah dating from 18th century. Next we drive straight to Ait benhaddou: one of the oldest and finest examples of a fortified city in the world; founded in the 11th century and declared a world heritage by UNESCO since 1987.
Visit and have lunch in one of the restaurants overlooking the kasbah.
Afternoon, drive straight to Marrakech; through the High Atlas Mountains (Tichka pass-2260m). Tour ends with a drop off at your hotel.
