ERG CHEBBI is one of Morocco’s several Ergs-large seas of dunes formed by wind-blow sand. It is located on the far western edge of the Sahara Desert. Of course, there are several other Ergs in Morocco, such as “Erg chegaga” near M’hamid. But the dunes of Merzouga remains the best ones worth to experience. In place, the dunes of Erg Chebb rise to 150 meters from the surrounding hamad (Rocky desert). The dunes, spreads on an area of approximately 28 kilometers from North to Sout and 5-7 kilometers from East to West lining the Algerian border.

There is an increasing demand for physical therapy in the sand baths in the town of Merzouga by those seeking treatement for rheumatism and joint diseases.
